A few ways we celebrated Christmas:
We always watch several Christmas movies under the glow of the tree. WE started the season with a family favorite: A Muppets Christmas Carol, the kids watched Home Alone, on Christmas Eve we watch The Grinch, and I introduced them to A Christmas Story.
I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I had to do for Christmas. The kids were all home from school doing remote school because of Covid so I decided to enlist them and have them each make 2 of the Christmas treats - for us and also for neighbor gifts. They did a GREAT job - most of them made their item 100% by them selves just following a recipe they had never made before. It was awesome!
We also went looking at Christmas lights several times, despite Eve crying the whole time. I eventually just took her out of her car seat and held her on my lap when we were just on neighborhood rows. Our neighbor does a great light show to music and so does a family in our stake (they have a "Can, Can Christmas song the girls love) and we also went to a church light show drive through thing.
Christmas Eve
I went fancy this year with matching plates, table cloth, and decorations - all were impressed.
Then we did my most FAVORITE thing. We danced around our Christmas tree. This is only the second time we have done it since we moved here - but I hope we will do it every year. Jason was a good sport about it :)
Then we went to bed and Santa came.
In the morning we all came down (except Evee - she stayed asleep) and as usual Dane was adorable seeing the tree and all the presents.
A few pictures of Christmas morning.
The kids with their presents (except Megan) she put all of the stuff away ASAP and I didn't get a picture.
All Brock wanted for Christmas was a phone... well we said no to that. Then he wanted a switch... we said no to that... then he wanted a real sword... we said no to that. I was feeling pretty bad for the kids, so I got him a dagger and he LOVES it! (as you can see Megan made him a cardboard sword because she felt bad for him) Brock, Noah, and Madison also got ski passes to go skiing with mom. Megan got a scooter - she didn't want to go skiing.
Then we had our traditional brunch (all fancy again). We spent the day playing with toys and friends and lounging around.
