Our babysitter for the kids took pictures for us of the kids first meeting Eve. She took a lot of pictures and I absolutely love them! They capture the excitement, chaos, and emotions perfectly.
This is the moment that the kids first came in from the backyard and saw me holding Eve. Madison's reactions are the best! I wish you could see Brock's face.
Look at how excited Dane is! In a second he gets a little frustrated and we try to figure out what he wanted. I pass her off to Jason and hold Dane, that wasn't what he wanted - so then we let him hold her, that's also not what he wanted. None of my other 18 month olds acted frustrated when they saw the new baby. It felt pretty overwhelming. Part of the problem is he isn't talking a lot so you could tell he wanted to say something - but didn't have the words. Part of it was, I think, the chaos of the other 4 and all of them holding her. Not that he was jealous, but that is was just over stimulating.
but look how happy he is!!!
Then they all got a turn to hold her.
There is that pirate again!
And our family of 8! When I first saw this pictures I thought, "wow, that is a lot of kids, look what we created?" I love our family and have been so overwhelmed the last 2 weeks with feelings of gratitude for these last 2 little kids. It would have been so easy (too easy) not to have them. Life was good and simple and was just getting to a place where things were easy. But these 2 little kids have blessed our home, heart, and lives in a way that I knew they would, or hoped they would. I love the doctrine of the family and am blessed to live it every day of my life and I am blessed to be able to teach it to my children by the choices Jason and I have made and by the way we live our life.
