Outdoor ed

Madison went to outdoor and she couldn't have been more excited.  The babies and I went to see her off and the school but driver asked if they wanted to drive a bit.  

Her teacher's haven't sent pictures yet, I hope they will.  But here is her description.  

My bunkmates were Brailynn and Brooke and at the end of the day we would all be on the bottom bunk and play down by the banks, and in the main hall the whole cabin would sing little sally walker. the meal were the best in the entire world and I was at a table with Gavin, Brady, Chloe, and Sophie and your meal supervisor was Rithwick who was the funniest person alive. The girls cabin was so so so much better then the boys, the girls was a 2 story log cabin with a balcony on a hill, and 6 room with a fire place and 3 showers, 4 bathrooms. The boys cabin was a yellow and green plastic shack 1 story with 2 showers 3 bathrooms and 2 rooms. My high school leader for the cabin was Camille and Jenna who were the best. The best activate was the campfire night where we sung songs and did plays or gaga ball where we did cabin games and competitions.

 Camp was the best and I would go back in a heartbeat, it was one of the things I will remember forever 

Teachers camp

Back to 2022.  Brock and Noah are in Teacher's Quorum together.  They were in Deacons Quorum together back in 2020 and I was SO EXCTEID for them to go camping together, but alas Covid ensured that never happened.  SO t his year was the first time they got to go together.  They went on a 30 mile back packing trip.  Honestly, neither of them wanted to go, but when they got home they were glad they went.

climbing with my friend was great i wish we would have done it every day.

we would sadly lose a life every day it was great though 

hanging out with my friends after a day of hike was great but the adventure was the best part

the view was great everything was great wish we could do it again

2021 summer camps

 

Since I never had an I-phone I couldn't download photos my kids' leaders sent me.  Now that I do and Jason put the software on our computer I could finally get the pictures from their 2021 camps.  I made the boys write about them since I didn't go. 

This was deacons camp for Noah.  It was 5 days.  When they came home and I had every single leader tell me in passing that Noah never wore shoes, and the bishop also mentioned in from the pulpit. 

We all had an ice-cream eating contest. the winner was Luke, came in second to last. i would have destroyed everyone else if it wasn't dilly bars. You try eating more than four of those. several kids were close to throwing up, but they didn't. Luke ate 8-11, I don't remember exactly.

We all just kinda chilled out during the hike. Me, Penn, and Matt are talking here.

There was a river just by our campsite. We all had fun in it, splashing, playing with water guns, and building a dam, you know, normal boy stuff.

we all had a share of cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. This was me and Matt's turn at cooking breakfast. We made hash browns and sausage, at least i think it was that.

We all went on a little hike on this wooden boardwalk. John Ricks or brother Neyenhuis told us about mushrooms and different types of fungi on the way back.

We all went to a cool shooting gallery and shot some guns. I think did fairly well.

we had this devastating hail storm. tent number one was completely flooded, luckily, most people were in tent number two. it lasted for a long time. my shoes broke on the second day so i had to go barefoot.

we went kayaking in this small lake. it was really fun and we had a great time flipping each others boats.my life jacket had a knife in it, so that was nice. they confiscated it though.

Mid summer our youth always have a giant slip and slide activity.

In 2021 Brock's Teachers Quorum didn't do a camp out (boo).   They just stayed home and did daily activities.  They went tubing down a river, went on a 25 mile bike ride down town, had a bbq, went rock climbing, and did a service project down town.
