I know our top picture is incredibly out of date - but I love it because it captures perfectly my life at one point. So it will stay.

Christmas Day

This was a great Christmas.  Dane was adorable.  Everything he said was classic Christmas perfection. He kept saying things like: "this is the best day of my life", "I just love Christmas so much", "I feel so happy".  All day.  He would say those things to me all day.  Made it all so worth it.

We all cuddled into our room in the morning to have Jason finish our book.

I put the luminairs out again.

The kids going through their stockings.

Opening presents.

A ghost spider shirt for Eve.  I love the look on her face!

Madison got the best present of all.  She wanted something ridiculous.  And, uncharacteristically, I got them for her.  She was not expecting it.  It was so exciting.  Probably my favorite part of christmas

Megan was probably the most disappointed, if you can't tell by her face.  haha.  In fairness she was like "I don't need anything, I don't want anything, just give me money"  but she did make a list and it said something like "things you can get me if you have to buy me something".  So I did not get her everything on that list, but I guess I missed the most important things AND I bought her other things I thought she would like.... but she didn't.  Oh well, she was sweet about it.

Dane got 2 pictures of his gifts, I am not sure why.  I think I took one and Jason took one.

Every year I am like: "if you want a picture of all your gifts lay it out and tell me to take it, if you don't want one I don't care.  No pressure.  But I now realize I do care.  After making some of my blog books I realize that a picture of all their Christmas gifts is often times a photo representation of who they are as a person that year.  I can't record all the things about all the kids and I miss little details, but there are so many things about their gifts from their siblings, grandparents, their stockings, candy etc that really tell a story.  I am very very sad that I didn't get a picture of Brock and Noah's stuff.  Especially because we only have 1 or 2 more Christmas' with them.

Brock didn't get much this year.  He wanted it that way.  He said he didn't need or want anything, but he didn't want me to just buy him stuff.  He wanted to see what a Christmas with no gifts felt like.  But then a week before Christmas he said he wanted an apron that said "kiss the cook".  He did get a few other presents from other people though.

And Noah got a bonsai lego tree and video games.

Getting ready for brunch.

I love Megan's help in the kitchen!!

Brock put on his apron and helped also.  He has been a great help in the kitchen the last few months, it is awesome.

Making brunch was so enjoyable this year because: 1) my teens were in the kitchen with me helping and 2) in the back ground was Dane and Eve playing with their toys in the living room for over an hour.  My heart could have burst!

Jason went around and took some pictures.

Noah had a dose of real life this year and I was so proud of how responsible he was.  His attitude was perfect.  He had to go to work on Christmas Day!  He had to rush through brunch.  It was sad he had to go, but it was kind of perfect.

Love this family of mine!  I would do anything for them.  They make it all worth it!

Pretty yummy, if i do say so myself!

Jason spent  the majority of his day teaching Dane and Eve how to build legos following the directions.

And everyone else had a lazy day.

A picture of dinner, sort of.

Sunday Christmas Pictures

We woke up Christmas Eve morning to snow!!!  It was a christmas miracle.  It had been 60 or 70 degrees all December and there wasn't snow in the forcast.  It was truly amazing.  It wasn't much snow, and it didn't last long, but it was a great way to start Christmas.... AND a great way to convince my family to take pictures after church.

I really wanted one of  those cute, cozy, hugging pictures.  They didn't get the vision.

My sister-in-law, Janina, convinced me to buy this red coat while we were in Utah for Thanksgiving and said I needed to take a Hallmark Movie Christmas Photo.  With the snow I decided she was right.  We aren't models or actors, but they turned out pretty cute.
