I know our top picture is incredibly out of date - but I love it because it captures perfectly my life at one point. So it will stay.

Hanna's Halloween Party (not with us)

My mom hosts a Halloween party every year.  My grandma used to do the same thing.  We haven't really been.  We went to one the year we moved.  I thought I would include pictures people text me of this year.

And yes, we all thought Lottie looked like Satan

Halloween Parties

Ready for all of our pre Halloween activities?  Here we go!

Brock and Noah went to the tri-stake Halloween barn dance.

Some of us went to the trick or treat street.  Megan went a few hours early and sat in line and read a book to save our place.  But she had soccer practice so she couldn't come.

Dane could not have been MORE thrilled than to match Brock for Halloween.  He only wanted to stand by him and be with him all the time.  Dane felt so cool!

Hannah and I were both witches, so we had to get a picture!

It was the same night as my primary activity night.  Most of the families in the ward go to this anyways so we doubled it up and made it an activity.  So we got a picture of some of our group.

Brock has really struggled with Dane and Eve for the last year or so.  It has been pretty sad to watch.  Brock did pretty good tolerating Dane thinking Brock was amazing and wanting to be with him.  It could have been better, but I was grateful he at least tolerated it.  Brock will do his duty.

Then we had our ward trunk or treat.  Megan brought some friends with her.

Again, Dane only wanted to be with Brock the whole time.

She was sad the whole night.  Never figured out why.  But this was the best smile I could get.

It was good that Dane insisted that he always stand by Brock because they won an award in the contest.  I can't remember exactly what award - but something about super heros.  My kids always want to win an award and I say "sorry, wrong family".  We have families in our ward that LOVE Halloween and the mom goes all out with homemade costumes, make-up and themes.  Some dedicate their whole year to it.  So we never stand a chance.  So this was cool.  (Megan and Madison also won when they were hot dogs together.

Eve and I got to go to Dane's Preschool Halloween Parade.  I love having Eve as my buddy during the day.

Here is our cute spider man (no masks)

Then Eve and I went to the library for some Halloween reading time

Day of the Dead Party

The second counselor in our YW presidency, Claudia Nielsen is from Mexico and loves to throw and ALL OUT Day of the Dead party for Halloween for our youth every year.   The kids love it.  This year they also incorporated a table that all the kids brought a picture and artifact of an ancestor.  Since grandpa had just died it was a bit more thoughtful this year.  I asked the kids to take a picture of the table but despite paying 30 dollars a month for their phones, none of them could be bothered to do that.  Also, Madison gave a talk about grandpa Brown and re-watched Hayden's message from the funeral about "things he learned from grandpa while working in the garden".  I also asked them to film in for me, also none of them could be bothered.
Pictures and artifacts:
Brock: Grandpa Phil, checkers game
Noah: George Little, a book witten about him
Megan: Grandma Hanna, her jewelry we got a t her funeral
Madison: Grandpa Brown, Work gloves

Here are a bunch of adorable pictures

My cute crew!  Pictures like this melt my heart.  The 4 of them being together and looking happy together at activities that I am not there for.  I PRAY they will be friends their whole life.
