Noah Cutie

I REALLY REALLY want to hang up family pictures.  There are several factors holding me back, the main thing is not having our living room done.  But I sort of thought I wasn't going to care and do it anyways and just have to fill in holes and rehang when we eventually do it.  The other thing is that I am missing a few that I need to take.  I was missing a "now" picture for Noah so one evening I tried to take one.  He is adorable, I am not a great photographer.  I don't think I will use any of them.  But he is so cute I thought I would post them.

 

Life with Dane and Eve

We had a cold spell so we made our artic ice sensory bin and had a lot of fun with it.

They got their very own chore chart.  They do it pretty well.  Mostly just folding and putting away rags, cleaning up their messes, and wiping things up.  But it is a start.

We play at McDonalds and Chick Fil A and SOMETIMES get lunch (they have a different life than the first 4.  We also played at those places but not ONCE, not EVER did I buy them lunch)

They have been doing a lot of art.  It has been hard finding a good system that is accessible for them and also not a total mess.  Since the "art table" is also the table in the kitchen (but not the table we eat at) it has been stressful for Jason to have the art stuff out and have the kitchen a mess.  But we are trying to figure it out.

We got twister at a garage sale and have enjoyed playing it a few times.

Preschool

Dane has been my first child to attend a preschool program that I was not running.  It took me a while to decide to send him.  It was.... honestly... ok.  I am sure it was necessary as he will be going to all day kindergarten in 1 month but it wasn't exactly the preschool experience I would have wanted for him.  Also, he didn't love it.  He loved it while he was there and when he came home and the night before he went.  But every morning that he was supposed to go he refused to go.  I tried every parenting strategy that I knew of or could find to try and help him go to preschool with less stress and unhappiness.  I never succeeded.  I hope kindergarten is not the same.

 He attended St Lukes.  His teacher was Mrs. Lindy and they were the Lama's.  He had 8 kids in his classroom and went Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2.  That is a long day!  It was supposed to be 9-1 but the week before school the state government (who had just taken over preschool to give everyone free preschool) forced all preschool to be at least 10 hours a week, so we adjusted to 2:00.  I picked him up for a few weeks at 1:00, but that was frustrating for him to leave early, so I ended up picking him up at 2 like everyone else.  It was really hard because that was right in the middle of Eve's nap.  But I figured it out.

As I mentioned above, he loved the idea of preschool and he thinks he loved it.   Here are some pictures throughout the year.

their classroom pet was a stuffed Lama (Lenny) and they each took turns taking Lenny home for the weekend and taking pictures with him at your activities and then making a journal page about what you did together.  

These were from the fall when Dane first brought Lenny home:  We may or may not have forgotten to take Lenny places and on Tuesday morning taken all the pictures playing in the back yard.

They had a special "mom and muffins" breakfast and a "dad and doughnuts" breakfast.  

And since Dane was at preschool Eve was my little buddy.  She always had grand ideas of what she wanted to do for every minute while Dane was at preschool.  She did n't love play dates with other kids while Dane was gone, she just wanted me and her.  We played a lot of board games, went to a lot of parks, made a lot of snacks and treats and went to chick Fil a or micdonalds quite a bit.  It was fun having her be my side kick all the time
