Dane turns 2

Dane turned 2 back in December.  We all can't believe he is 2 and simultaneously we can hardly remember life with out him!  I made a football cake for him because all day he wants his "brown football" (Brock's full size Bronco football) and wants to "kick ball".  He loves watching football "oh, my gosh, come on!" is what he yells at the TV when ever it is on. 

He actually wasn't that thrilled with his cake.  He saw it and I expected him to say, "football" - but he didn't.  He didn't really say anything.  Its ok.  He is still worth it!

Madison said, "Dane is only getting used things for his birthday"  haha.  Mostly true, what she doesn't know is that when she was 2 she got mostly used things as well.  I went into our old boxes and got old toys and games and wrapped them.  Then I got a balance bike off of Craigslist.  Grandma and Ashley got him "new toys" a fishing game and sesame street characters.

Dane at 2:

• We really have to watch what we say because he repeats everything.  His saying right now is "oh my gosh" he says it about a hundred times a day.  We tried getting him to stop but it seemed to make it worse so now we are ignoring, that also seems to make it worse. sigh
• He loves balls.  He wants to spend a lot of the day kicking balls, catching balls, or watching brock throw balls at the wall.  When we go outside he wants to go play basketball.
• He loves to go outside.  Even if it is 20 degrees.  He doesn't care.  We walk the neighborhood a lot. When outside he loves to shovel and spot the airplanes that loop our neighborhood from the nearby flight school. He likes to wear his jacket with his hat.
• He is very obedient.  Mostly if we tell him not to do something he won't.  The big kids can play a board game on the floor and he won't bother them.  We told him not to climb the bunk bed ladder, he doesn't.  He has definitely gotten a little more difficult as a 2 year old - but not too bad.
• He is a singer.  All our kids liked songs and singing.  Especially Jason singing.  But Dane likes to sing.  He sings songs to himself.  He is adorable.  He sings songs along with us.  Sings songs that the girls are playing on the piano "glo--o-o-o--o-ria". 
• He likes to read books.  He has kind of stopped reading them by himself but he will sit and have you read to him for a long time.  He even likes long books for older kids.  He also likes to watch Super Why or Daniel Tiger.  He used to like Dinosaur Train and Elmo's world - but those are starting to change.  He usually watches a show while I make dinner.  
• He has a sweet unique relationship with each one of his siblings.  He loves Brock to play sports with and cart him around the neighborhood to his friends house.  Noah is "so silly" with him and plays crazy chasing and  tickle games.  Megan loves to read with him.  Madison plays wonderful pretend games with him.  And he loves being with Eve.  He wants her close by him, he wants me to put her in bed with him or in the chair with him.
