Noah got his permit in September. He hasn't loved driving. In fact he has hated it. But it has been a bit irrational, so we have ignored his gripes. Many kids his age don't like driving and it gives them "anxiety". While Noah has become more cautious as he has gotten older it has always seemed to me that he feels more comfortable taking on the persona of his peers than being his true self. He is a great driver and has all of the qualities that would make a good driver. Plus I know he will like the independence and control. So we have pushed through without really validating his feelings. It has been harder than it was for Brock. But it is now May and he has decided he does like driving and does want to actually get his drivers license.
He was also ordained a priest the first week of January. Being a priest has been hard for him. He hasn't wanted to bless the sacrament yet or officiate in baptisms (but he has done it). He also got his Patriarchal Blessing in December and that was AWESOME! He worked really hard for it. He has grown into a wonderful relationship with his Heavenly Father and receives his own personal revelation, which is amazing to watch as a mom. Noah is doing great (even though he doesn't think so).
This is the night we went as a family and he performed baptisms. It wasn't his first time performing them. He did it for the first time with the youth. I was kind of sad, but only for myself. I am grateful he did it!
